Our Garden's were awsome last year.
We planted almost all heirloom plants with just a few exceptions, as I planted a few varieties that I really didn't plan on collecting seeds for the next season.      All of the pictures to the left and below were taken in mid June. The corn had'nt come up yet and mulching was coming along fine. We did run out of mulch but we started using empty paper feed bags, cardboard boxes and such. At garden cleanup time these were picked up and put on the compost pile.

Cabbage, Brocolli and Cauliflower
Cabbage, Brocolli and Cauliflower, Snow Peas and Spinach.
Pictures below and to the right, were taken in July and early August. The tomato plants were enormous! Cabbage matured fast and we made saurkraut in mid-July. Our second planting of beets and snap peas didn't do as well as hoped. We harvested enough beets for a few meals and a couple bags to freeze. Same with the second planting of corn. All in all the garden was amazing.
Everything is in the fruiting stages and full growth. Front left are the burgandy bush beans and on the right are the potatoes. Back rows are from left; peppers and tomatoes.
This was two weeks before we harvested the cabbage and made saurkraut. A few were sold at the Farmer's Markets. The peas to the right are were harvested and four more rows were planted for a second crop.
Another view of the tomatoes and peppers. Can't wait for some juicy red tomatoes!
The horseradish is in the front. We transplanted quite a bit but it still keeps coming back. The Summer Squash on the far right is in full production. The pigs are getting what we can't sell, eat or give away. Their pen is just to the right of the row.
A bumper crop year of peppers. We have many froze and canned into pepper jelly.
