Buckshot is our veteran Border Collie. He was 10 years old this May of 2007. We purchased Buck from a breeder up by Walker. Buck has been a great herd dog and since slowing down with arthritis the last couple years, has decided barking works really good to move cattle. Buck had his front leg amputated when he was 1 1/2 years old. He has gotten around just fine and worked the cattle almost as fast as when he had both front legs.
Our Canine Family ~ 2007
Rambo (Nickename is Beano) : Registered Golden Retriever. Beano is coming along great with his retrieving and hunting skills. He is amazing with squirrel, raccoon, skunk and muskrat. Beano and Brew have killed 32 skunk this summer! Beano was born March of 2006.
"Brewsky" was born November of 2003. "Brew" is a registered Black Lab and an excellent retriever for waterfowl as well as upland game. He has awsome confirmation and the most chisled physique I've ever seen in a lab. AWSOME! Of course all he wants to do is play fetch...oh and hunt...imagine that!
This is Scooter in February 2007. All Scooter wants to do is please. He loves to play fetch. He is such a gentleman and is doing excellent at 4-H obedience class. Scooter was born January 1st, 2006.
Honey February 2007 - 3 weeks before her due date. Honey was born January 1st, 2006
Baby Girl is the pup we kept of Honey's litter. She is 7 months old now. We realized her eyesight was not quite right until she was about 8 weeks old. We don't know exactly what was wrong. She seemed to see shadows or shapes and only close. She relied alot on hearing and smell. At about 7-8 weeks old we began noticing that her eyesight was improving. By the time she was 12 weeks old she seemed to see almost perfectly. What a relief...and what a precious gift!
Buck (Buckshot) has passed on this December 22nd. He had a rich, fullfilling life on the farm as our awsome and valiant herd dog. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
