Welcome!

Here on Cedarbrook Steading we are seed stock producers of registered Red Angus beef cattle. Our venture with the Red Angus breed began in 1992 when we became managers of the EJD Estate herd. For managing the herd, our payment was every 3rd calf born each year. From those genetics that are the foundation of our herd today, and 19 years later, we are producing Red Angus that are affordable not only for commercial cattle growers, but also offering the superior genetic bloodlines that registered/purebred beef producers expect. Our strict culling practices provides calm, moderate framed, calving ease animals that will move your program forward and provide future genetics you can be proud of.

Our Cedarbrook herd offers bloodlines which are well known in the industry. We have been using Artificial Insemenation in our program for 10 years now, which has produced impressive calves and future genetics we would like to pass on for your program; Buffalo Creek Cherokee Canyon, Badlands Mr. Beef, LLC Major League, Viquero, Leachman Above Heaven, Romeo, Red Native as well as  Black Angus Connealy Freightliner, Excalibur and In Focus.

Of worthy note, one of our herd bulls born and raised here in 2005, "Hank 0515" was from the lineage Buffalo Creek's Cherokee Canyon who is his grandsire. His sire is Major League. "Hank 0515" sired spectacular offspring for us from 2006 through 2010 calving seasons. This is one of those bulls who have made a positive impact on our genetics for years to come. We proudly continue to offer generations of his offspring.

2010 Calving Season!
In October, 2006 we were an Accredited Tuberculosis-Free Cattle Herd with the State of Minnesota, Board of Animal Health. We met the requirements outlined in Minnesota Rules 1705.1040 through 1705.1080, also in accordance with USDA Uniform Methods and Rules for Bovine TB Eradication (January 1, 2005) Part IV; for the period ending October 1, 2008.
April, 2008, the TB status of the state of Minnesota changed from Modified Accredited Advanced (MAA) to Modified Accredited (MA). This changed our accreditation and we were no longer certified. We would of needed to test again in the 2009 year to reinstate our status.
We chose to not retest as we believed that continueing with our program of a closed herd that we would remain a TB free herd. We have not changed our program and have not compromised our status in any way.
